Commitments for 2018, 2019 and 2020 The Fondation Médicale will invest $1 million a year in the purchase of equipment!

The Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut thinks big! It plans to achieve no less than the biggest health investment in its history by injecting $1 million a year from 2018 to 2020 into the purchase of equipment.

“From 1990 to 2018, more than $8.2 million has been injected into our communities,” recalls the executive director of the Fondation, Daniel Desjardins. “In 2017 alone, we are talking about a massive investment, amounting to $700,000.”

Projects and infrastructure

The Fondation Médicale plans include support for La Traversée Mont-Tremblant, the Cœur des Laurentides pediatric centre in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Palliaco and the Centre d’Action Sociale en Orthophonie (speech therapy centre).

In the Laurentian Hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, the operating theatre, emergency, birthing, palliative care and oncology departments, and the day centre, will benefit from some of this investment, as well as the health co-ops in Montcalm, Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, Morin-Heights and Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, and the CLSCs in Saint-Sauveur, Sainte-Adèle, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Saint-Donat, Mont-Tremblant and Labelle.

The Family Medicine Groups (GMF) will not be forgotten. Among the communities targeted are Saint-Sauveur, Sainte-Adèle, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Saint-Donat and Mont-Tremblant, as well as the CHSLDs in Sainte-Adèle, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Saint-Donat, Mont-Tremblant and Labelle.

“A million dollars a year, yes, it’s possible, thanks to everyone’s commitment,” stresses the president of the Fondation, Michel Rochon.  Involvement comes in many forms for individuals, groups and businesses, especially through direct donations as well as donations to and purchases from the Trésors de la Fondation thrift shop, the purchase of particular devices or even by creating groups (families, friends, neighbours, etc.), not to mention employee donations withheld at the source and ready-to-go fundraising activities. Don’t forget that 100% of donations received are invested in the community’s health.
