A geriatric chair for the Laurentian Hospital Day Centre

A bit more comfort for the patients in the Day Centre at the Laurentian Hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.

The Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut recently gave a geriatric chair to the patients and staff of this medical unit.

 Maximum comfort

The geriatric chair is conceived primarily for patients with limited mobility or who need constant care. This type of chair provides the patient with maximum comfort while allowing the inclining position to be adjusted at various times of the day to help limit the risks of bedsores and pressure wounds.

“The patients in this unit are often confined to their chair for 2 to 4 straight hours. It is important to give them the most comfort possible,” explains the executive director of the Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut, Daniel Desjardins.

“This piece of equipment simplifies the work of the medical staff,” continues Mr. Desjardins. The equipment supplied is from the very latest generation of geriatric chairs.
