The Fondation Médicale will lead a major fundraising campaign this autumn

A radiology service, essential for a community.

The Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut understands. This autumn it will lead an ambitious fundraising campaign in the Mont-Tremblant sector. “Since the fire at the clinic that housed radiology services in 2008, Mont-Tremblant has not had this service available,” explains the Fondation’s president, Michel Rochon. “If someone breaks an arm, they have to go to the hospital in Sainte-Agathe.”

A $500,000 project

This $500,000 project aims to develop a new radiology service in the Mont-Tremblant sector. Some details remain to be worked out before the project can be set up, but it is all heading in the right direction. The project details were announced at the recent Fondation Médicale golf tournament. “This is a project that will relieve the overcrowding at the hospital’s emergency room, that’s certain,” adds Mr. Rochon.

The Fondation is very grateful to Denis Dubé and Patrice Forget who reactivated the file in Mont-Tremblant. The Labelle MNA, Sylvain Pagé, enabled all the people involved to meet around a table. He also acted as a link with Minister Barrette. A first donation of $5,000 has already been received from the Fondation Claude Léonard. The Fondation Médicale added its own $5,000 to help leverage this project.

“This autumn we will reveal a comprehensive funding plan,” stated Michel Rochon. “For us, this is important. We must be able to offer the best care, with the best health professionals in the best location.”
